Vray for maya Normal map issue

Hey could i get some help with a rendering issue?

I’m trying to render a low poly game character in Maya with Vray.
It looks like this in the viewport.

PS: In mental ray I could just check maya derivatives in the options tab in the render settings and it would be fine. is there an option for that in vray?

Shot in the dark: are you gamma correcting the normal map? Don’t gamma correct normal maps.
