I dont understand why my render has these hard black areas. Any suggestions?

God I hate these stupid image websites. Your pic won’t load for me - but naturally a bunch of ads did. Can you not upl the pic to this website?

definitely try a lower edge length. things like this can happen when things aren’t subdivided enough.
The only other thing I can think of is that your network looks a bit over-complicated - I can’t see what you’re doing of course, but, extra complication leads to extra errors -

Figured it out. I selected the sphere and just planar mapped the whole thing and that got rid of the black spots. So it was due to the fact that my uv’s weren’t attached creating the sharp falloff on the uv border edges
