Vista+AE won't load footage

#1

I just got myself a new workstation and with that MS Vista.
But now I can’t import anything to AE. I can drag and drop content into my library window but I can’t import anything. As if there are no valid files at all on my pc. I can Ctrl+I and browse the folders on my drive but there is absolutely no content what se ever and I have it set to import “all acceptabe files”.

Did I miss something. Using AE 6.5 Me the user is Administrator and the only user on this PC.

Yes, severely.

Exactly the problem. Versions prior to CS3 are not supported on Vista. Time to take out the purse and upgrade.

Crap.
That was not what I needed

But is that the reason why it won’t find the material cos the program works and I’m able to do everything else but the import.

I noticed that Vista is up to alot of no good all the time. My Wacom is behaving strangely. Middle mouse button + alt in Max won’t always rotate as expected. Stuff ike that.
Maybe it’s less trouble to downgrade to XP. That is if there is drivers for the hardware that is.

I should have listend to my mother and become a carpenter.

Thanks for the answer.

The file dialogs are incompatible with Vista (even on systems where they may accidentaly work, they usually miss control elements or are blank) and can’t handle UAC and DEP checks on top of it. In addition, the whole screen may not refresh when certain palettes are open. Also AE 6.5 is not compatible with the latest versions of Quicktime, so latest at that point you’d run into trouble…

well that settles it. I’ll have to upgrade.
Thanks again for the input.
