Viewport Issue

#1

Hi everybody,
I have a question regarding the vieports of Vue:

I imported an architectural model from SketchUp to Vue. So far the rendering works fine, but for some reason the vieports show only boxes. At first I thought that my geometry is still grouped and that vue, for some reason, is showing groups as a surounding box. But thats not the case.

I just found out that the display of objects seems to be distance depended. When I zoom into a side view my objects are suddenly displayed normal, when I zoom out they are displayed as a box. Unfortunately I cannot zoom out with my main camera, because I want a certain perspective…The only way to get rid of these boxes is to switch to wireframe view.

Does anybody know were this is coming from ?

Thanx

A few reasons why this is happening: check your display settings and move the background/instant draw sliders to the right, but not completely unless you have a very powerful machine.
Check the degraded mode settings on the same window, maybe the settings for disabling advanced (meaning normal) previews ar too high also.
And check the openGL max polygons displayed, the default is 1 million I think, mine is set to 1 500000 and I have no problm.
Also check that each individual viewport display is set to smooth shaded. Individual viewport displays bypass the general display settings.

sorry for the late reply bruno021,

I changed the openGL polygon limit to 5.000.000 and that helped.

Thanks !
