Viewport Background Image trouble

#1

i just started doing the nurbs head tutorial ( the monkey head ) and im having problems wit the left viewport. (set to lock zoom and match bitmap size; wherein if you zoom your mesh and picture zoom proportionately )

the tutorial tells me to start with a circle radius 6 inches, this is reallllly tiny compared to the left viewport image, so i scaled up the starting spline to fit the image. now after i aligned all the side view splines, heres the problem, i went to put the background image for the front viewport and it looks like the 6" circle would have fit there. so now i cant slign my side view splines with the front view because theres huge sizing difference.

both images are taken front the 3dsmax CD and are identical sizes.

Maybe its becauseof the zoom of the viewport. Try this - 1st press the zoom extent all viewport button. Then try to add the images. Maybe that should work.

Check the system units you are using - double check that they are the same as the ones used in the tutorial.

I to got that thing when I have done that but this can be resolved by changing the zoom extent value in preferences or you can just fit the nurbs ,They are really good to handle.

Raise the 3D spirit.

personally i would preffer to use planes and apply your reference to them so you scale and align them in any way you want…
