Very simple question

#1

Hey just first opened Modo.
Im not a modeler at all (render/lighting), but Modo might be a good way to start. The last time i modeled was in Soft 3.9 hehe.

I checked the PDF docs and theres nothing that awnser my 2 questions.

  1. How do you set the defaults subdivisions on an object? If i create a Cylinder theres way to many rows. I just wanna edit that.

  2. What does Non-active tool means? Because the right-click option to change the selection modes and the right-click on object option doesnt work at all and seams to be very helpful.

Notice that my version was sent by the Modo guys themselves to my boss and i have no video tutorials imcluded.

Thanks alot…sorry for the dumb questions.

  1. After dragging out lets say a box…
right click inside the box and move your mouse
    up/down or left/right to set subdivisions…
or use the numeric requester under tools.

  2. If you right click anywhere outside of the mesh
you can select polygons, vertices, or edges from
    the popup menu.
On the mesh itself if you for example right click
over an edge the edge selection tool will be
activated. Or over a vertex then vertex selection.
    Hope that helps.

  1. It does work using the “drag creation” mode. But using the CTRL+Click mode, can i change the segments and rows after?

Like in Maya’s input for exemple.

  1. The right-Click outside and on the object doesnt work. How do i get no active tools?

Spacebar will drop a tool so it isn’t active anymore. Then, left click (er, right click on default mode…I use Maya setting) anywhere outside of your model to deselect any vert, edge, or face.

It is now working since im in default mode…in Maya mode, it does not work.

Ill send Modo’s a mail.
