V-ray tutorial: jewelry rendering by Aversis

#1

Aversis 3D resources just released a brand new tutorial about realistically rendering jewelry in V-ray

In this tutorial, we go over the process of lighting and rendering jewelry in Vray. Starting with some general modeling tips, we then cover the basic steps to build a custom lighting and environment rig that will be suitable for rendering any type of jewelry. Since most jewelry materials like gold, silver and diamond are so reflective, your lighting and environment setup will be more important than with any other type of product you will ever render.

We also discuss several important tips for creating realistic silver, gold and diamond materials (including dispersion!). After the first lighting rig is set up, we will show you how to modify it to dramatically change the look of your image.

No 3d visual is complete without some image post processing. So we take a quick look at fine tuning your image in photoshop.
