V-ray sun makes hard shadow in shadowed area

#1

Hi!
I’m working on one of my movie’s scene, where i want to take a 3D title to the shot. Everything was fine, until I made the projection map into a vray material wrapper for matte surface and a strong shadow appeared, instead of a soft one.

Before:

After:

Does anyone know why is this happening?

Light and shadows in V-Ray simulate real world lighting, and if you have a hard shadow you will probably have a strong lightsorce that is small in comparison to the object.
Try to increase the particles/dust in the air (don’t know the name in vray). Then you will soften the lightsource and make it bigger, and in turn make a softer shadow.

I understand that, if I want to make soft lights, I should make the lighting settings like the scene would be an overcasted day, but I tried to recreate almost the same scene that I shot.

As you can see, my problem is the sun somehow light through the building when I turn that object’s material to a matte surface and I don’t know why.

I see… I don’t know what that could be. Sorry…

I had something similar once, when xfrog trees got shine throu by the background image. Like if they were 70% opacity. Did not solve that one, I change the image to a plane instead.
