Uv Seam and Material ID

Hi,
I’m not a 3dsmax user, but, i want renderize a scene with him.

How I can select faces to my model, quickly, for assign a Material ID?

I have a model with 30.000 polys :), and is uvwrapped.
I want assign Material ID for each seam.
