Use Effector Across Cloner of Cloner

#1

Suppose I’m using two cloners together to achieve an effect such as the following:

Now, suppose I still want each cube to have a random color. I could try using a random effector on the inner cloner, but that doesn’t quite work:

If I use the effector on the outer cloner, nothing happens. Is it possible to use an effector elementwise across multiple cloners somehow? If not, how would you make each cube a random color? Here’s the scene file: effector across multiple cloners example.c4d (261.5 KB)

If it is possible just make it editable (create bunch of cubes from it) and put it under mograph fracture object, that works for me…

Maybe someone else knows different workarround, so tell us!

#3

Had a go using Fields which seems to work but I couldn’t tell you why

#4

There are two tips that can solve nearly every known C4D issue,

  1. Put in under a Connect Object.

or

  1. Use Fields.

#5

Would you please explain how the connect object would work in this case? I don’t understand how to use it to solve the problem.

#6

In this scenarion what cloner have you connected the random field to?

#7

Both, I think.

Or if you don’t have Fields you can use Falloff
