I just wanted to give you guys a bit of information about our upcoming Maya Character TD Level 1 course at VFX Learning. The course starting date is January 5th and it will take place on our online virtual classroom. For more information please visit www.vfxlearning.com/courses
Here is the course description:
In this beginning level course we will be introducing the basics of cloth simulation using Maya’s nDynamics system and hair simulation using Maya Hair. We will begin with the foundation of all nDynamics, the Nucleus solver and flow into the basic settings of nCloth objects and nConstraints. We will finish the course by addressing hair sims for simulating ropes and chains. Course work will cover cloth simulations of static objects both at the origin and fixed as part of models that could used as set pieces as well as non-deforming animated models and rigs which frequently have cloth attached to them.
We will also discuss increasing model resolution at both pre and post sim stages of the work flow. Hair simulation will cover creating follicles and hair systems that work separately and within the same system and how to attach them so that ropes, strings and chains behave as if attached to models in real life scenarios.
This course work will deal mainly with simple cloth set ups and single hair follicle set ups. Principles for planning ahead for mass production of cloth and hair set ups will also be discussed in preparation for future courses.
Thanks
