Unrealscript Programmer Needed for Proof of Concept Demo - Paid

#1

We have been contracted to provide a limited gameplay proof of concept demo for a publisher that is deliverable before E3 this year. The majority of the work would be implementing the control scheme and creating systems our designer could use to author and tweak a simple melee combat system. We are producing all content and the demo will be on the Unreal 2k4 Engine.

Given the short timespan of the project it is imperative we have someone who is well versed in Unreal Script or a similar proprietary scripting language and can come up to speed very quickly.

 Work can be performed remotely.

uhh, you’re not allowed to create a game with the Unreal 2.5 Runtime version, it’s only meant for non-gaming applications… But I presume you mean using the Unreal Tournament 2004 version…

You are correct sir. Now to correct a bunch of posts…

For the record I inquired as to the legality of using the Runtime for private demo development and this is the response I got from Jay Wilbur:

If you are not in the position to take an Unreal Engine 3 license or
evaluation you’ll have to develop your demo using the UE2:Runtime* or as
a mod for UT2k4. Once you get some traction with publishers and are in
the position to buy a license you can come back and we’ll put it
together.

*: We prohibit public distribution of games developed using the
UE2:Runtime. If you go this route you must be careful the game is not
release to the general public.

Thought this might be good info for anyone looking.

I’ve got a friend who might be interested. He’s always got side projects going, so I’m not sure if he’ll have the time. He was my teacher for a mod class we took in a 3d gaming course. Taught us the unreal editor. and helped us delevop this mod for UT 2003/2004. http://www.blackicegames.com/pod/

anyway, I’ll let him know but here’s his email: mike cortexreaver@yahoo.com

Position filled, thanks for all the responses.
