People may be hesitant to respond without any information about who you are and what will become of any contact information that is sent to you.

Could you expand on the statement “Work to be carried out under contract,”

#3

“work under contract” means that the people doing the work will have it in writing they will get the finished film from me in return for their work. The contract will also protect me regarding copyright, giving me the right to use their work in the film.

As for the details being asked for, I’m not asking for anything one wouldn’t expect to find on an online portfolio site.

Once people have applied, I will provide them full details of the project - I don’t want to share this information with people who have no interest in working on it.

Hope this clarifies things. If you’re not reassured, take the usual precautions.

Hmm, maybe a softening in your attitude would avoid responses like the ones you’ve already received on one of the other forums.

An open and friendly attitude will likely get you more positive responses when you are asking for people to contribute what may amount to many hours of unpaid work. Like it or not this is the way these things tend to work.

It may seem unfriendly because it’s structured along the same professional lines as a paid offering. That’s the whole point of the excercise. Once it’s done I will start my own production company and will employ the people I’ve met though this project.

The “many hours of unpaid work” are entirely up to the applicant - they need only work as much as they need for their own showreel. Professionalism is more important than the amount of work.

As for the responses on postforum, I think you can tell from the first reply onward it’s not me who is being unfriendly.
