Hi there,
I have been using C4d for the last 5 years, and one thing in particular I have never understood is the UVW map scale.
My current work flow:
I make a model
UVW unwrap it
create a 1024x1024 20x20 grid checkerboard material
Apply to object
Then when adding new object to the scene I apply the same material and adjust the scale of the UV to match the other object - by eye.
Last week I upgraded to r21 and the UVW mode now has a scale - but with no grid.
So my question is…
Can I globally set the texture resolution in the project, ie 1pixel = 1 cm. Then when selecting a UV island, apply my global texture scale to the island, so that I can easily unify the texture scale across a scene. This surely seems like a no-brainer.
I have used a plugin in the past (which I can’t remember the name of) this was very hit and miss, and rarely worked properly. Surely this should be built into C4d, and I am missing something.
How is this problem tackled in other 3d apps?
Thanks in advance for any response!
