UGAC – Moving Juggernaut Vehicle Level - Rules

#161

I’d be right into this one. the character might be a stretch though. perhaps that only comes into play if people choose to collaborate. the SplinterCell screens look great. Would you fix the size of the final images to the pixel dimensions of a PSP or DS screen? I think the reason those SC shots looks so great is the small size.

bring it on.

#162

ow man this is so awesome, a enviro with character, wicked man

looking farward for the spec

#163

i dont know about the character man, are you sure you could handle both? i dont think i can.
just an environment i think, since low poly chars were just done at cgchat and everyone might be a bit bored.

#164

I also think the character should be left out.

#165

Update:
We are working on it…

#166

[EDIT] The ideas already here sound excellent! I’m definitely getting on this next one :)

so what do we have up next? never mind/I’ll read. Just to through a few ideas in, from me to yall.

1.mid range detail rotted pirate characters that are design in a funny kind of way?

2.maybe lets just see who can make the best cell shaded character anything from bugs bunny to Robotech/insert other anime here i’m sure Andy H would love that one

3.or what about mischievous little kids, I mean REALLY BAD just on the brink of EVIL mischievous? (this is probably the funniest idea right here)

4.Mafia Men, I mean the classics here go for real but with no normal maps, mid range poly count.

#167

What if we start at beginning of March?

#168

Sounds like an good goal. I am still trying to get the rules written up with Desp#2/Rog…

#169

dont spread yourself too thin…we should keep this challenge doable in a month…i agree, no character

#170

Ya. I agree that doing an level and char. is spreading one person to thin…
Than again, for an team… if we have/allow teams… it should not be to bad…

Very Glad to see you back on the boards Bentllama!
I hope to see ya around.

Note to everyone: Challenge starts 1st of next month.

#171

I hate to be the downer, but I still don’t think teaming it up is a good idea. I suppose you can make it optional, but the majority of entries don’t get finished to begin with and if you’re working with someone that’s gonna piss you off even more.

SO the idea so far is to go with a handheld environment? Does everyone know the poly counts and texture sheets sizes, texture limits…etc for handhelds? Better make sure before we start.

#172

I agree too. But maybe optional

1st on next months, yum yum

I hope we have many entries this round

#173

Yep. The plan from the beginning was to allow two people to choose to work as a team, but only optionally.

We are still looking into it, but think that we have the general specs ironed out.
From my understanding you worked on an few games for the Gizmondo handheld. Can you clue us in on the requirements for that system?

Yep, we are shooting for record attendance in the upcoming challenge.

#174

Update

The rules are done! And almost everything is ready to go.

However

You guys will have to wait four more days to start.
It would be in bad judgment to announce a new contest right after CG Challenge XIX.
We are now looking at Sunday
That will give a chance for everything to die down a little

#175

cool, i have no plans for sunday, full day to crank out some ideas!

lets get it on!

#176

… ronflmfao

#177

wow, I haven’t done any 3d work for a bit of time now, looking farward for this

#178

LOL, look forward to it.

Whaaaaat?

Cool! Nice to hear. I dont know how much free time I will have, but I am sure that I am going to get an level out. at least a small one.
