#21

sounds dope, if i have time im gonna do Dismember Man! i think the name basically covers his main purpose nicely :stuck_out_tongue:

#22

This is awesome! The ideal subject for me. I’ve always wanted to do one o’ these here Game Art Challenges–guess there’s no better time than now!

Dibs on BoilerMan!

#23

in spirit of this challenge, i think we should all install MegamanEffect on our computers and have it run when starting your 3d package.

Windows version
Mac version

#24

Word to the wise, be sure to put rundll32.exe on the excluded programs list :argh:

Anyway, dibs on Shark Man

#25

yeah, make sure to check the ā€œonly apply the megaman effect to processes listed belowā€

#26

Love the concept. Hopefully I will have some time to put into this one. Calling dibs on Bling Man.

#27

Oh man this is a challange i cannot ignore
Megaman is one of my favourite games

i don’t really know what to make yet so no nameclaim yet

#28

Realy great challenge…however i don`t know how and from where to start.:scream:

#29

dibs on Hit Man!
I hope its acceptable, and its not taken already.

#30

The theme is nice! But it has already been a theme in a competition in 3dtotal… http://www.threedy.com/site/forum/showthread.php?t=38687 (See LOW POLY CHALLENGE #1 - Megaman Villain Challenge) (And oh yeah, try to see #3 and #8… heheh…)
But who cares if this is the second time anyway!
This comp will turn out great!

#31

Wow! I have never posted on or done any challenges, but this one got my attention. The computer I am on is named ā€œmegaman.ā€ I’m not a game artist nor am I able to enter due to work, but this is tempting. If this were a regular art challenge (no game-type limits, etc), I would have a much harder time.

Good luck everyone! Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with.

#32

Yeah we got the idea from a guy who came from those fourms. Though we went for another contest instead and let this sit a while it was a great idea but we wanted an enviornment contest.

The poly counts are way diff though more into the side of true next gen.

#33

Ahh…what the heck…I’ll give it a try…

I call ā€œNukeManā€

#34

Thanks Mike for the link…was so helpful:thumbsup:

#35

I have just started at a 3D specialised school… and… i’ll proppaly be able to mix something up…
i HOPE i get the time
this challange looks MORE then just intresting… MegaMan ftw

Dibs on Mechanicle Man
(Command & conquer… ringin any bells? )

Regards

#36

did you guys like make this contest as a wet dream come true for me or what?

Im so on this one!

#37

Just a question. I stumbled across this and I thought, awesome! Forgive me if I missed it some where but what is the reward for this effort other than personal satisfaction?

#38

Wicked thread! Since people are calling out Dibs, mine will be ā€œWingManā€, with the powers of flight.

(also the best friend to those on the dating scene! Jk)

#39

How about Sonic Man?

#40

Metroid as the reference. Yeah. Indeed nice thread and just on time. God time to use some advices from texturing for dummies and ATR stuff. B.t.w. Q4 characters are built of ~2340 polys and work great with Ogre /f.e. Perfect Dark FPP N64 was made with mentioned engine:/.

I’v got serious dilemate. RPG? Full 3D backrounds and 3D NCP’s or prerendered overlays with axonometric view /scrollable 2D and 3D characters or maybe 2D and characters built of sprites. All close to Dungeons and Dragons system. I need clever methods and classes for interaction with NCP’s body parts objects to enable cutting heads, legs and hands e.t.c…:). and destructable elements of surrounding (fully interactive all world elements)/ OK> It’s behind.

Have a nice time
