UGAC - Megaman - Seforin

#1

ok I will be designing out a design for my villian over the course of the next day or 2.

my villians name is “Scratch man”

He is a odd combination of enemies into one.

Let me explain, much like Gravity man and bubble man, gravity man would reverse gravity on you during the fight, and bubble man would shoot bubbles at you so you would hit the spikes in the top of the stage.

Scratch man was a robot dr.wiley made to be a music airwave/ mass brainwashing bot.

He stage would consist of a radio tower atmospher. And would incorporate music elements to the level. His boss zone would have spikes all around the area (the floor ceiling and walls)

His Ability is called “Scratch Attack” Which he would use his turn table chest piece and ROTATE the stage on you. Not the gravity, but the actual stage would turn

Of course like any robot master her would have a set pattern he would follow after a while, so any smart rockman/megaman player could pick it up after a few tries =p

His power ability would be “Scratch attack” in which the stage can be fliped in a 90 degree angle each time when used, in which the stages could become more tricker for level layout and secret factors and puzzle design.

(Damnit if capcom only would hire me to help with some of the newer megaman games ~_~ )

Anyway As soon as this week is over pics of this character and begining of modeling will be started

That idea for the 90 degree level design is really cool. I love when levels… Morph like that.

I think the idea of this one is sweet so far.

#3

Heh, I always love when people complain about lame Megaman Villians. “Damn Capcom” they would say. Then I’d inform them the main Megaman series villians have ALWAYS been designed by the fans. So don’t blame Capcom for the insensitivity of Tomahawk Man but rather the poor representation of Native Americans the Japanese youth are forced to endure.

#4

whoa whoa, I didnt mean it in any sense that capcm is doing a shitty job.

I just getting tired of varation enemies now days is all. They need to evolve there games for the newer platforms and think a bit outside of the box…but you know when you grow up with something its hard to change it. I guess.

And if thats the case…who designed Flame man, Terrorist ? (www.bobandgeroge.com reference =p )

#5

nothing wrong with expressing some criticism imo… besides, if no one ever raised their hand to say “something doesn’t feel right” then nothing would likely have improved.

and i’ll be loathe to say that the megaman games haven’t gotten better over the years (current fave being Zero for the GBA which is pretty far from the traditional bluebomber motif)

Ok this is design concept 1, now im not really liking the helmet so much so I might go back and change it some more, I actually have the idea of having 2 turntables on his chest instead of 1.

But heres just a idea im tossing out, Ideas crits and all that good stuff appreciated

#7

lookin sharp already has the feel of the MM universe w2g !!

#8

Here’s an idea for ya: DJ lighting-armor. I mean like shoulder pads that look like those lights that spin around with the rainbow dots on them, and maybe kneepads to match. This is leaning more towards clubbing than mass brainwashing, but I thought it was worth suggesting.

#9

wait are you talking about like those cop siren lights they have at spencer gifts and clubs and stuff?

haha then he would be Seasure man! I kinda wanna give him more of a feel of records or turn tables on him, But maybe I can incorporate those lights in the knee area…or maybe the hemet itself…

Hmm im still very sketchy on this character…more designs will follow, any more ideas are welcomed !

#10

hey neat, that’s a cool design! this one will be interesting to see when it’;s done

#11

heres a few more designs I Decided to have the turntables on the arms instead of the chest and keep the chest as a equalizer piece.

Crits are welcomed and more designs will follow soon. (Color scheme im not sure about just so you know)

#12

yea they look better in the arms color scheme isnt bad i like whats happenin with the green reminds me of some sort of night club color schme.

#13

OK appologising for the lack of updates , finals and BS up the ying-yang have made my week a nightmare, I did have a chance to doodle some more at work…dont mind the drawings on top of drawings or weird dino midget thing.

Im making more of a turntable design for the arms now and ive decided to squat him down more fatter for the overall megaman original feel. I am going incroporate the “W” logo as a badge on his body (I wanna go more megaman remix manga details on these characters)

I will have the nice and possibly final design of him up over the weekend.

Again comments or suggestions are appreciated

#14

Looking good Seforin. I like the one on the left more. Did they really have badges in the manga? Don’t remember too well but looks alright.

#15

alright after changing up some designs I decided to change the helmet design and the overall look to him

A friend of mine suggested the actual speaker to be apart of the head design, which I will incorproate more into the 3d model

Thanks goes to all people and all credits, I think I will stick with this design and start 3d modeling over the weekend.

also the light blue pieces all glow

#16

ok if by lack of posts I will assume this concept is either A: mediocore Or B: fine enough to start modeling and I will begin modeling by tommorrow, any updates will be Appreciated

#17

Oh, fine, if you’re gonna complain…

But seriously, the design looks good, mostly! I’d advise you to revise just once more, though, as it seems you have inconsistent and conflicting motifs scattered about your character. I mean you’ve got down-arrows on his legs, dots on his feet, the triangle on his chest, stripes on his helmet and ridges on his shoulders. You do have consistency with the red circle on both his head and arm, though, which is good. Personally, I like the down-arrows (they make me think “get down,” which may or may not tell you much about my sense of humor) but I’d think twice about putting them on my character because MegaMan ZX also uses the down-arrow motif–your call, there. (Maybe use just the triangle? That would match the one on his chest…) I also like the dots and ridges, but I don’t like the stripes on his helmet. I’d totally ditch those. Basically, just pick one or two motifs and use those all over the character instead of a new motif for each body part, and voila! You have a strong design!

Looks good so far, though, and your colors rock!

#18

Yea the last redesign is the best one and I can see your getting closer to the feel you wanted in the character from what you told me. I say your ready to model it. Keep us updated on it

#19

I <3 you with open mouth, K thnx bye!

(joke stole from Deadmonkeycomics.com)

But yea Ok I see what you mean I think I’ll work on the helmet one last time and then im good to go!

#20

ok so since I have a main design down to almost a science and since I couldnt sleep decided to model out some pieces to the guy…heres what I got so far

BEHOLD, SO ASSTOPOLOGY! *Well attempts at ass topology atleast)

Still plenty of polys to play with and still much more to block out. Progress reports will come soon
