I like the concept of this Robot for the contest. THing is the texture is the part that lets it down. From what I see the unwrapping was done well. Practice more on texturing and when you get better get back to this guy since he could be reworked to be really sweet. I think that is the real issue with this one, The lack of work on texture.
I think for an orginal design and concept to form modeling you did a really cool job. I see some iffyness in the hands modeling with on vert in the middle in the palm but besides that I can not tell anything really worg with it.
With the gum balls inside his belly you can make a main layer of the texture than have small plains around it to create a sense of depth in the texture with perhaps a normal mapped spheres for each gum ball. Like I said I think the texture is the only real let down. When I saw this concept I really like it and the forms are nice. IMo if the texture was really good you would have gotten votes easy.
