UGAC - Megaman - free-willy

#1

Ok,im in on this comp.missed out on the one they had over at threedy so im definetly gonna join in on this one.i was a huge fan of the megaman games when i had a nes and snes so this is gonna be fun.
made a big list of names and thought out there attacks etc and then sketched out ideas to whittle them down.was left with anchor man, jester man and ram man. pretty sure im sticking with jester man,so i’ll tidy up the concepts tomorrow and post em up.

Pretty cool, can’t wait to see 'em! But, just as an FYI, make sure to steer clear of ClownMan’s territory. For some reason, he’s not on the official “List of Villains You Can’t Use” list.

thanks for the heads up,been through all the mega man boss/enemy pics and i never saw that one.mine doesnt look similar so its all good.i’ll post em up today.

4 sketches of jester man,any ideas of which would fit into megaman games best?

havent named his attacks yet but he has : 1) a posessed hand puppet that fires lasers,
2) spin attack with his spiked ball jester hat,
3) springy jump attack with his base part of model.

i thought with the larger version of jester man he could be controlled by several posessed hand puppets that collectively mind controll him and create a shield around him, untill they attack megaman and leave jesterman open to attack…or something like that anyway.

#5

either one of the four jesters are ok but that is up to you. Keep them coming:)

I like number 1 because he looks clubsy enough to be dangerous. Number 3 looks dangerous, strait up, and in your face. I personaly like number 3 if you add more detail. Number one has plenty of potential though.

#7

nr. 1. No doubt about it

thanks for the comments.didnt get much feedback before so i did a quick 3d sketch of no.2,didnt really get a good feel for it.the first sketch i really liked too but it was less of a ‘human’ in a robot costume n more of an enemy dotted around the levels, purely because of its blatant robotic face, with that in mind i came up with a sketch for another of my initial ideas…Ram Man.

i’ll probly do another variant/s on the horns to see which i prefer most.
c and c much appreciated as always,thanks.

Wasn’t Ram Man a He-Man character too? Not to say there can’t be one in the MegaMan universe as well.

#10

Even though you haven’t created much yet I love it!
The helmet is just perfect :bounce:

Yuo could loose a few loops in the horns to save polies though

did some more work on him, lotsa areas can be optimized a bit,but i’l leave that till the last stages of modelling him.attacks: hes got 2 cannons that fire 'sheep dottles/sheep poo outta his ass area and hes got the obvious ‘ram’ attack which is put into action after he somehow slows megaman down,i was thinking he jumps in the air and on hitting the ground creates a sonic boom sorta effect that stuns mega man long enough to charge and ram.

#12

Wow, I like the details you have on the helmet and how the body is coming along. It would be cool to maybe have a cloak of Ram fur or something on him hehe. Keep it up, its looking good

#13

thanks, once i finish the main parts i’ll hav a look at the cloak of fur for him.

#14

woohoo hes got legs.

#15

 Looking great so far. The mesh looks very clean.
I can easily imagine him in-game.

#16

I really like the mesh of this. I like the design style and it fits. Hope the skin looks great. Make sure to make it lucky shiny even reflective looking.

#17

well, dissapointed i never got this finished for the deadline,…seems the cause of all my bad headaches lately were my eyes, got em tested so hopefully wearing glasses at the comp will sort all that out, that took the last week away from doing ram man so heres where i got up to,…fully modelled and rigged, just under the poly limit.really pleased with how it turned out.picking up my glasses on thursday so i’ll unwrap him then and begin texturing.
