So I have a couple Ideas Bouncing around at the moment… So the first part of this thread is to brain storm some ideas, to get the best one to come to the surface. In no particular order

That’s looking excellent, Darksuit. Maybe you should make the tentacle on his arm a bit larger towards the end kind of like on this picture.
That would be nice if I were going for a Squid look, however I am shooting for my of the Octopus feel.

What if he had webbed feet, a la BubbleMan or WaveMan? Or if his feet looked like the fat end of that squid in the pic Swizzle provided? (I think that's the "foot" of the squid, but that's so weird I'm not sure it's true). :shrug:I am still puzzling that out in my head, think i might do some sketches of the feet/ while doing some Mega Research… =)
I was thinking about doing Pointed Crab Legs. However research and just brainstorming might point me in a different direction.
Hey David, its John from your portfolio class. The concepts are looking cool so far… I really like the concept with the crab legs, it compliments the whole tentacle theme. I cant wait to see the model/rig, keep it up!
I don’t think i have sold myself on the idea of a claw hand, for the opposing hand to the tentacle, leaning a bit more towards a 3 fingered hand that may swap out to a claw…
I have been looking at a number of Mega man villian images, learned some things about the latest verision. So while I might like to explore the idea of claw feet, I don’t think it works with the whole Mega Man line of villians at the moment. The King Series of Robots tends to have a specific style of foot, so I am playing a bit with that at the moment, Design wise. also did some concept sketching with the Head.
Dave!! great pose on the one with the long long tentacle. That’s wicked!! At first when you told me, i thought it’d be both arms, but i like it with just one. woot. Kinda like the normal legs over the crab legs. Or it could be a transforming boss! First it’s a crab, with a shell. You defeat the crab and then he appears from inside the crab with crab legs!! but then you get um, Sea Man. And that’s awful. Awful. Crab Man, but tentacle man is much cooler sounding. It’s late.
Tako - I have thought about that, shifting modes so he gets harder, its a time honored tradition for VideoGame bosses to do so. It reminds me a lot of grade school and two kids bickering, I can beat such and such, na’uh, uh’huh, na’uh, uh’huh,etc… what you can’t do that, cause it does this too… you get the idea.
I would rather make a really solid boss that would stand up to not just MM but also others as well.
Sea - I will have to try some sketches to see how that looks, at the moment I am not seeing it, and just getting Diablo II flash backs =)
