ive been coming to this forum for a while to inspire me to get better at my artwork, and i could not pass this event up. im in the process of moving and noticed theres is a massive amount of new posts since i last saw. i also noticed my character i was planning on making was also taken, but i believe the rules will still allow me to use the same name.

here was my version of tank man

he has a turrent chest, machine gun arm (which i may change, still debating on it ) and tank tread feet. in a sense, he will kinda rollerblade rather then walk. he also has a protective hatch that closes to signal that he will use his turrent cannon.

scanner isnt hooked up yet, but i can post some of my initial scetches later.

That’s awesome. I love it. Except his right forearm looks a bit short…

tht looks really awesome is it only 3900 tris like in the screen shot its alil small for me to tell. but the model looks gre8

I think it looks great man, looks like a game asset to me, now get it mapped!!!

Edit: I have a few suggestions for you,

First the head you could greatly reduce the number of polys by not modeling they eyes if you are gonna use a texturemap, aditionaly you could model or bump map/normal map the rivits in his head. Also what someone else was saying, you might want to check the forearm on the arm with the hand. The design is great reminds me of the Transformer from back in the Day. I think you could take about 1k to 1.5k polys off of this by doing a little optimization though!

This guy is lookin sweet. I agree about the arms being a bit short. I don’t really think you need to cut your polys down though. The limit is pretty high and I think it benefits from having the detail modeled in since its a lot of big shapes that would be somewhat lost if they were only normal mapped. Good job.
