Hi guys, im a pretty novice self taught user and am looking to find a ‘basic’ modeling tutorial using blueprints/reference images. I tried the one from lynda.com with a gold fish but the tutorial was all over the place with instructions not clear or difined.
Any help or advice would be great.
THanks

maybe try the ones I made directly above your post. It is box modeling with a referece image. Well, er actually a perspective. Provide the images though and I’ll make a video tutorial on how to model it.
hi, just downloaded your tuts from above, but the second one is not playing for me. Any chance of reposting.
Thanks
That’s cuz the second one didn’t end up being a clean transfer. I’ll re-upload it.
The link to the 2nd video (fixed) is:

Great thread, busy sifting through this and a load of others for a good tutorial on Male torso topology . The Joan of Arc tutorial is great as a general character tutorial, but trying to get a step-by-step guide for the topology of defined muscles in a male torso is proving tricky.
Here’s my contribution to the tut’s: http://www.3dm3.com/
I expect it’s been put in before, but there’s some really good video tutorials on there
This is one of the best around(IMO)It’s female but can easily be adopted.

Just head via the tutorial link on the homepage:thumbsup:
Many thanks musashadin:)
Sorry for late response, 3D animatic went right up to university holidays, then was offline looking after a farm, first time back on here in a few weeks.
Turns out I had Second Reality in my selection of links, but had only glossed through it, and I’m quite a fan of sub-division modelling, so that tutorail will be very helpful.
Had a bit more of a look through this thread, and have generally sifted through a good degree of the CG Tutorial repositories online for everything from 3d effects to rigging and have a fairly decent library of lnks now:thumbsup:
Found this rather good tutorial on male muscle topology, its not as clear/easily accessible as the link musashadin provided for subdivision body modelling, but is a good reference source.
Planning to use them in conjunction myself, with the Second reaility tut as a general reference for sub-div body modelling, as its a very clear and repatable tut with good potential fro rigging.
If you want some specific male anatomy details in a sub-div tutorial, this is the one tutned out to be pretty handy, (the model was created in MAYA but the tutorial is 100% generic):
thnx for those links they have been really helpful this is actually my first reply here so l wish this site helps me and thnx again

The help document has a really good polymodeling tutorial for a spaceship which steps you through from concept to render.
