I’ve just start with MB 6, just. I don’t know how to set up a skeleton properly in Maya so that MB likes it, and so MB can rig it up for me or characterize for me. The MB guide doesn’t seem to be of much help for this problem. All the tutorials I’ve found on 3d buzz are for people who have already past this level of preparing a skeleton in Maya so it’s ready for MB.
So I have my skin in Maya 6 of my character with no skeleton and I would like to start animating in MB some day. Can someone please point me in the right direction as to how I go from here?
I bought the Learning MotionBuilder pro 6 DVD from Alias, but it hasn’t come yet.

The easiest way to figure out the naming of your joints so MotionBuilder will be able to characterize it correctly is to open up one of the skeletons in MotionBuilder for one of the moCap .fbx files like “kicks” or “punch”.
