Turn objects to reference


I’m testing a converting unique objects into reference, but my result doesn’t match as 3dsmax clone function.
referenceReplace $ $Sphere001
If I make a reference copy by clone(Ctrl+V), add an any modifier and then delete it, the bold line in modifier stack remains.
But if I make references by my code, the bold line is disapeared. Objects become instances after modifier deleting.
how to beat it?
