I’m trying to retarget some animation from one rigged and animated character to four other character models, all slightly different proportions. I have been duplicating the rig from the first character and resizing it to match the other characters.
I’ve put the first character through the HumanIK setup, filling out all of the joint mapping and successfully characterizing it. The second character has also been fully mapped and successfully characterized. However, I understand that to do the retargeting, the second character needs a control rig. When I click the “Create Rig” button in the HumanIK window, chaos ensues, followed by this error in the script editor:
// Error: Attribute locked or connected: BigmanRig:Bip_Casual13FBXASC032LFBXASC032Finger49.translateX
Upon looking at this joint in the Outliner, the translate X channel does have a non-zero value, but is not locked or keyed. The only connection I can determine is to the other finger joints.
I’m really stumped right now as I feel like I’ve followed all the instructions in the documentation.
I am using the student version of Maya 2011 64bit for Windows.
