Tron Light Cycle crash animation wip

As a follow up on my blog series on Tron FX animation, I’ve started blogging on ‘derezzing’ a light cycle. Latest post in this series can be found here: http://bit.ly/i6CgrJ
This one is about a more or less finished Houdini tool for generating and rendering the signature exhaust Walls of Tron.

Wow that is fantastic work you have done there :slight_smile: and you models slook so good.
I would like to ask a couple of question if I may.

How did you create the sky for your animation?

The Tron city in your film, is it a back drop or did you actually model that aswell?

Thanks! I didn’t create the light cycle model, which was created as part of the original project that started my little internal project. All the animation and simulation is my work however, as is all the shading and rendering. The sky is just a quick matte painting. In my latest renders an arena model, made my Linus Hofmann has been added.
