Is anyone successfully using Polas Tree Designer with LW 9.3? I just downloaded the demo and it crashes modeler, even when it isn’t open the slightest thing will crash it such as creating a box. I’ve contacted Powel to see whether it’s just a demo problem but have not yet had a response. I really need a plugin that can create sub-patch branches and TD1.5 seems perfect but not if it doesn’t work under the latest LW version.

well I had a quick think about my project, re-installed LW8, swore a lot because I couldn’t find the dongle, found dongle, tested the demo, it worked enough for me to think,“buggerit, I’ll buy it and just use it on LW8”, bought it, installed it and swore some more.
It would seem that only the 7.5 version of the plugins work for me (I also bought the leaf generator) but the 7.5 version doesn’t have a licence key in the folder. It took me about 45 minutes to realise why the plugin only worked when I scanned the directory rather than did a manual install (found the 7.5 plugin) and then to work out that if I copied the licence key into the 7.5 folder it worked!
When I get a chance I’ll test 9.3 again but on initial inspection it just causes it to crash…but that could be down to the 7.5/missing licence issue. Fantastic plugin, terrible installation.

hmm…ok.
I got it working eventually…In case anyone else needs to know how I got this far (or even me when I do a re-install in the future), here’s how I did it.

[li]remove the demo and any previous install and remove from the plugin list, restart, run the installer.[/li][li]Add the plugins in Layout because modeler crashes after installation.[/li][li]Load modeler, the plugins won’t be listed in the Additional list but they will be listed in the Edit Plugins list.[/li][li]Create a menu and buttons for the plugins, Modeller will crash but hopefully it will save the buttons, if not repeat until it works or until you get bored/frustrated/angry/stressed…delete as appropriate[/li][li]Run modeler and test the plugins…eventually, after a few crashes during modeling or when closing modeler the application will admit defeat and let you use the plugins.[/li][/ol]

Ah ha! Well spotted.
Have family in Jersey and used to spend all my school holidays there. St Ouen’s beach is where I learnt to surf and still is my favourite surfing beach, bar maybe Constantine 
- although Jersey has some great secret spots which I will certainly not divulge here! PM me if you wanna tell me your connections. I regard it as my second home so always up for a reminisce!

I use both in LW 9.3 and since they are only Modeler plugins I only added them to Modeler.
