Treasure!!!

I recently “completed” this animation, but i want to reanimate/refine it. So some tips on improving the story or principles to apply would be great.

Hi Blurisere. Your story offers many opportunities to showcase acting and human body mechanics.

I suggest you to break down your reel and treat it like a series of exercises, focus on one exercise at a time. There is a walk, push, lift(baby), and posing(guy on bench). I figured that you are new to animation, so might as well start on simple exercises, and don’t be afraid of revisiting your ball bounce.

Most of your shots lack weight, when he walks or pushes the see saw in place, his weight has to shift from foot to foot as he steps forward. Also he seems to slide around in the opening shot.

The guy on the bench does not feel alive. You need to add moving holds, and from time to time, shift him from one pose to another. Film your self lying on a couch in different positions.

Get the animators survival kit if you haven’t. Have fun, and Keep on Animating!

Thanks for the reply. I pretty much agree with all of that lol but thanks for the tips.

Nothing looks smooth in your animation. Does your pc lack ram/cpu power in order to work with high resolution objects? Or did you just not want to add extra divisions

The resolution was a personal choice. Just thought it looked better that way but that is a point i can take note of when i redo it.

Thanks.
