trapcode particular 2 is.... 1.5?

Hey guys, recently I’ve seen some amazing videos using trapcode particular 2. Interested, I went onto the Red Giant website to download me a trial version to play around with. After installation and firing up after effects, it’s clear that it installed as there’s now that red “demo” watermark over my solid. However, when I look at my effects panel, it says that it’s trapcode particular vs 1.5 - which is my current version anyway, only with a watermark. plus I don’t see any noticeable difference with the menu and appears to have not had any effect whatsoever. what am I doing wrong? I know it’s only a demo version but shouldn’t it state that it’s still version 2.0? and also look noticeably different in the menu? Plus I don’t see any of their new presets that are displayed on their site. Just the old ones.

Btw, I’m running CS3. Do I need CS4? Seems like all the video tutorials that do a demonstration of particular 2 are on CS4. That’s my best guess but I’m hoping that I’m wrong.

Would like to hear how I can get this to work, even if it’s a trial version. Really keen to play around with some sweet new particles :slight_smile:

Remove v1.5 before using v2. Only one instance of Particular can exist and you should get a warning about a duplicate effect for that.

hmm pretty sure I tried that out already. Including making sure that all the particular related files under /library/common/adobe… or whatever it is was deleted as well.

I’ll give it another shot.
