trapcode 3d stroke camera in combustion

#1

Hi,

I’ve animated my camera with matchmover. I’d like a 3d stroke to be placed in this space, but i can’t seem to manage it with the option ‘Comp Camera’. Maybe i’m not quite sure what it should do and i can’t find anything in the tutorials. Does this option only work in AE? Maybe any other solution?

Hi Guug
if you want to use 3D Stroke use AE.
Here are some lines of the readme file from the combustion version.

* The plug-in does not use regular masks like it does in AE, instead the 3D Stroke plug-in enables a Tool that you can use to paint the shape. It is found in the Toolbar when the 3D Stroke plug-in is active. It looks like the “Polygon/Bezier Mask” tool.

  • There is no support for importing Adobe® Illustrator® files into 3D Stroke in C3. There is no way to copy shapes between the Paint/Mask operators and 3D Stroke.

    • The “Comp Camera” option is not available. You have to use the camera that is inside the plug-in.

If you have access to a 3D Software, animate some lofts along splines.

that’s really to bad. I’m not a big fan of AE actually.
Stubborn as i am, i’ve tried to find a way to link the composite camera to the 3d stroke camera. I’ve been experimenting with combustion expressions and it worked for the camera position. But with rotating the camera the perspective of the composite differs from the 3d stroke. I probably just need to fix the camera option (field of view etc). Anyone got any idea what the camera settings are in the 3d stroke?
