Hello 3D world, I am a prospective shader artist and I have givin myself the task of creating a shader network that allows me to control the translucency/transparency based on the distance between geo (similar to the I, Robot…robot.
Example: A head mesh that has basic skull placement geo inside. I want areas such as the ears, nose lips (any fatty tissue that would be away from the skull) to be opaque and anywhere that is close is translucent/transparent.
Originally I had a ramp attached into the transparency with a facing ratio, I got some great results, but this is unfortunately connected to the camera movement, not what I would like to happen.
