transferring uv maps

so i have a photoscan model and have re-topologized am looking into transferring the uv maps using mudbox.

i saw a good tut on how to transfer the displacement wondering if theres a way to transfer uv mapping?

your mesh does have a different vertex order there is no clean way to do that…

could you post some images… of the old uvs…?

hey,

well i think I’ve solved what i need it to do for now there’s a thing in mudbox called reduce mesh which reduces the polycount and keeps the original uv’s

the models I’m using are statics so no need for nice top just yet.

the mudbox autoreduce does not preserve the uvs… it does create holes in the uvs…
if that doesnt matter fine…

but if you need really a reduce with preserve uvs you need to reduce in maya…
or meshlab thats free…
