Transferring skin weights - not quite working? Help!

Hi y’all,

I am having a bit of trouble transferring skin weights from one model to an identically rigged model with the same exact geometry.

At least, I think everything is exactly the same. I have the sneaking suspicion I’m overlooking something vital. Perhaps someone here could offer a suggestion or two?

I have attached two images, one of the properly skinned Yoda model raising his arm and lowering his right ear. You can see that things look pretty good here.

In the second image. the poorly-skinned model doesn’t bring the sleeve along with the arm, and the ear brings the head geometry out a little too far.

I would really like to get the SECOND model to have the same skinning as the first model. Is it possible I’m missing something here?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks so much!

Hey y’all-- I think I may have figured out my issues. Here’s hoping it all works good now!

Hi
Try using skin> substitute geometry.
Have the skinned mesh imported into the file. To get the desired result.
