TP with VB Normals problem

#1

I want to use volume breaker for the destruction of my building but when the building is supposed to collapse it … doesn’t. The building is fragmented correctly(can see in wireframe and some small lines in viewport) but the building doesn’t really collapse like i want. The fragments stick to eachother. How do i solve this- i reduced the friction and increased voxel size but no results. I tested the gravity force and it is working.

Also what would you reccomend the built in Volumebreaker or the fragmenter in thinking particles.

VB is only good for the small pieces, just because its voronoi shapes lack any detail, which you need for bigger fragments. Use either Rayfire or procutter with a plane with noise and displacement for the bigger fragments. Also - don’t start with a whole building, which is a largescale project. Start small, create the workflow, then ramp it up

Yea, so far ive only tested on one floor and I do like rayfire, but what would you say the best way to activate the fragments would be, i mean I do not want the whole building to fall at once. I’ll test when I get home with rayfire and some helpers to activate a gravity force. Thx and I love your website!

If it helps- i modeled the building by using booleans to cut out windows then replacing the hole with a window, and an array for the number of floors. The floors are also cut in the middle (hollow) I guess VB can’t handle that. I saw somewhere that you make the object an edit poly and delete a few faces and make a shell modifier- ill try it for rayfire and vb
