Torus with this topology

Hi to everybody, I’m trying to create a parametric torus with this topology? Do you have any ideas?

No Cine user here, but the problem is the same in all software.

One way would be to triangulate a default torus, then remove the straight edges. But you might find out that half of the triangulation edges points into the wrong direction then. So lots of clean up work might be required. Which can be reduced by splitting the object into a small segment, fix this segment, then duplicate it as required.

Second approach. Make a cylinder. Divide it. Twist it. Then bend it . Ideally to 360 degrees to have a full closed torus. But you can also work in pieces, and union them later then.

Not 100% certain what you want to do but you could try putting a bevel deformer on the torus.
Set the mode to Points, crank the offset a bit and make sure to check ‘Limit’.
Then put the torus in a Connect Object.

There are other options if you don’t need the torus to remain parametric :slight_smile:
