Started as a piece for the DSG, decided to add some more time to it.
I got a new hard drive and ended up losing the past year of my work in the process, decided to start finishing some of my new works.
Still need to finish the lamp, stage, the curtains, and I’m not sure I’m liking the hair.
Any critique would be great!
Cool stuff. Ive always been a fan of cartoony stuff rendered realistically. Like with good lighting and all that jazz. Your website was cool too. The whole bathroom scene was unique. I noticed in the cheese monster image you could use some shadow underneath the characters. The cast shadows you have are good but they should start underneath the characters some more. The characters kinda look like they’re floating right now. Keep up the good work.
Sorry, i hope you dont mind. But looking at the cheese monster some more, i noticed the composition could be improved. Maybe with a little more drama in it. I whipped up a quick sketch in photoshop. I put the hole behind the monster as if he is blocking them from it. and made angles of the shadows pointing towards the hole. You could probably take this to another level and make the camera even lower the monster even bigger and the hole even further away. Maybe put the camera on the same level as the rats. That way you could get a better sense of scale.
booleanspline - Thanks for the reply, I like new comp. I actually thru swapping out hard drives ended up losing the file for the cheese monster picture… very sad, but I may redo it with a better comp later on…
Glad you like the site… A bit random but I think it’s fun. I need to do a remodel and make it easier to upgrade… Another day…
Did you have any crit for the Freak Show?
I really like the Cheese Monster painting, the color palette is really nice, and the concept is pretty funny. Things I can see that could use work are a) expressions: The mice don’t seem too concerned that one of their own has just been eaten. b) body language: the mice again, are unconcerned as their facial and body expressions show.
I think this image has great potential, I’m familiar with Bobby’s style and you achieve it pretty well, keep at it!
sprogis7 : Thanks for the feedback!The mice were supposed to be looking excited, they just stumbled upon this huge piece of cheese and are geeked, I was having some trouble with their expressions to portray that though, once I’m done with Freakshow I’ll dive back into that one[b].

I dont think it was quite like that the ducks put up a really great fight, esp after beating the sharks. Bruins loss was a heart breaker.
Yeah, it wasn’t the destruction the picture illustrates, I actually sketched it out after the 6-3 game, but that was a great series… all of them have been this year, Go hockey!!
Another one… Needs some refinement, thinking yellow and black for the butterfly… Any crit?
