Tip for scaling the Character Object with an animated character


So if you create a character using the Character Object then it allows you to not only scale the character but scale it with keyframe animation (must use Object tool to scale)…for this reason l went through all of Bret Bay’s old Tuts on Cineversity in regards to making your own Character Template cos l needed a rig with no feet.

BUT…to do the scaling the skin deformer’s Type under it’s object tab has to be set LINEAR…with spherical the mesh just gets killed.

Sorry if this is well known…but thought it might help cos l couldn’t find anything obvious in the manual stating this.


If the Object Mode does not work how about scaling the project? Edit>Scale Project.

Works only for the whole rig and not on the individual components


Place a null at the base put the character under the null and scale the null
