Timewarping in Combustion 3?

#1

I downloaded Combustion 4 Trial to try and learn it. I recently went on Combustion 3 and noticed there is no Timewarp operator? Am I missing something or is there no such operator in Version 3? If that is the case is there a workaround?

Thanks.

That is correct the timewarp operator was added in version 4. If upgrading to version 4 isn’t an option then I suggest you purchase Twixtor from re-visionfx. Frankly Twixtor is a great plug-in that works lightyears better than the timewarp operator anyway. I rarely use anything else for complex speed ramps.

Let’s say I have no budget (which I don’t :(). Is there a workaround for Timewarping in Version 3?

Thanks.

The only way is to use the time stretch plus it does not allow animation of its values, only constant variations of speed

This is the brut force way if you only have version 3 and cannot afford twixtor which I cannot recommend enough.

import you footage multiple times and change the speed of each footage that you imported. Then lay them out on sep layers in the order of you ramps.

-----------100%---------
--------------75%------------
----------50%--------------

use opacity ramps and frame blending as needed or just cut from one speed to the next. This is the poor mans approach.

Good luck
