Hello!
Many are aware of the free motion libraries available online: the Carnegie Mellon University Library - http://mocap.cs.cmu.edu/ - (2548 files), its Kitchen Challenge - http://kitchen.cs.cmu.edu/ -, the ACCAD Motion Capture Lab Library - http://accad.osu.edu/research/mocap/ - (635), the EYES JAPAN library - http://www.mocapdata.com/ - (340 files) and the Motion Capture Club motions - http://www.mocapclub.com/ - (1 Four Arms file, 18 dog motions, 63 facial expressions and 461 biped motions ).
The biggest issue with this files is the format (ie: c3d) and hard to manage skeletons.
But what few know is that these database have been converted in bip and max for 3DS Max, mb for Maya, iMotion for iClone and bvh, dae and fbx for various other softwares.
Except for the Motion Capture Club facial expressions which are only in fbx (Motion Builder).
More than 4000 files in different formats, now that’s got to be the biggest motion database online.
The motion files can be downloaded from http://www.thetrailerspark.com/downloads
You will also be able to find some of the tools used for the batch conversions and motion files lists. REMEMBER, the files can be used for commercial projects but cannot be resold. Not my rule, but the owners.
Hope it will be useful to all.
Enjoy!
