Thigh Bone to Lower spine Bone select and link

#1

Hey guys
first time here, tried to google it,didnt get anywhere

my problem is - im new to rigging, trying to follow (cg academy)tutorial and i got to the act when im supposed to select and link my thigh bone(child) to my lower spine bone(parent), the problem is when i do it the thigh bone rotates (i guess it alignes to the spine but see no logic there),i checked my pivots local/world, zeroed positions (freeze transform) but it still moves (rotates) when i try link one to each other,i tried to link it to the controller(which controls the spine bone) and it does the same thing

now i guess theres some way to get around it(tell me how) but id like to see logic in this exact behaviour pretty much too
when they do it in tutorial, nothing happens, bones stay in their basic position
Thank u very much!

Hello,

I downloaded your file.

Your problem is that you’ve included Bone013 in the IK chain, you want to create the IK chain between Bone014 and Bone016.

The reason your original IK chain was rotating was because you were changing the parent space of the first object in the IK chain and if you select your IK goal and go to the Motion tab of the Command panel, you’ll see that the default parent space for an IK chain is set to “Start Joint”, so when you change it’s parent space it inherits new rotations.
