they said this wasn't finished or not good enough

They said that this wasn’t finished and I should put it in WIP so here it is. I think it’s cool and I can tell you that it is finished cos that’s what it’s meant to look like. Hope you like it too .

I like the rendering on the creature’s skin a lot. The design/movement of the limbs is great too.

The wrinkle patterns on the suit are a little confusing and flat… and don’t really define a specific shape.

The inside of the mouth (under the tongue) looks like it’s the plastic inside of an action figure mouth, not a real creature mouth.

And maybe they’re picky about not having a real background for the image. An abstract background might not be good enough.

I agree, I like the figure itself quite a bit. I like the texturing on the skin, the pose is great…the inside of the mouth could maybe use a little depth though, but that’s a fairly minor thing. I would add more depth to the shading on the clothes, and change some of the wrinkling as well…right now it doesn’t seem to follow the lines of the figure’s body.

As far as the background goes, overall I think it fits what seems to be the theme of the piece. Very 80’s ish, especially in color choices and the shapes. The only thing I could really offer on the background, other than maybe putting a drop shadow behind the triangles and numbers to match the one under the word “dragon”, would be to change the color of the pink parts to something a bit more contrasting, like yellow (I dont know, however, if you chose those particular colors for a reason? I’m assuming this is a company logo). I think yellow would still be very period, and still make the figure and logo “pop” a bit more.

Thanks for the input I think you’re right and yellow might work instead of the pink so I’ll try that and I will put a bit more time into the mouth too, the suit was just meant to be one of those badly fitting glossy suits of the eighties but if I get time I’ll see if I can make it more fitting
