The star of plain

#1

When the angel of the plain is healing the little horse,
she didn’t notice that she also become a star at the mid-night,
C&C are welcomed, enjoy!

p.s should I upload the image to the other host rather than attach the file here?

I like the idea, but the execution needs a lot of work.

The anatomy/clothing looks awkward because they look like you guessed/faked a lot of stuff without using proper references. Read this for solutions to that problem: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?p=7242955#post7242955

The background/landscape elements look haphazard instead of carefully planned/executed. They also look like you faked/guessed at everything without using proper references. The end result is unnatural, stiff, and clumsy.

The lighting is incoherent. Where are your light source(s)? If it’s moonlight from the left, and that’s your sole light source, then we should not be seeing the form shadow side lit so well on the right side. The night sky is certainly not bright enough to bounce much skylight onto the right side, so it’ll be quite dark on the unlit side. This includes even her entire face and chest, and almost the entire horse. You need to rethink where to place your light source.

The wings look like bellowing fabric instead of something with bone structure and defined shape/thickness/form.

thanks so much, Lunatique!

I really need someone to guide me,
I can’t improve my skill even I am trying to study from all other fantastic art works,
I don’t have the way to find what’s wrong with my painting…
I also can “feel” the unnatural but just can’t point it out,

I will try my best to improve myself and become a better artist!
