70’s Cartoons!

#102

Another round of 80s cartoons!

Pete.

Hey guys. This thread was actually started during the previous Challenge, and was talking about the next challenge (the one we currently have going on). There is a sticky thread located here that you guys should use. This way, you can ensure that your suggestions will indeed be read.

#104

I’m thinking something like villain vs superheros.
Or people who have alter ego’s like Clark Kent and Superman

#105

i think we should show some tiny fighter robots which are small in size and cute looking but very dangerous and should be fully loaded with weapon.

#106

It should be a topic that I’d have an easier time resisting. I’ve got too much work for these great challenges Roberto.

#107

sure ,why not.it should be less time consuming because me too have lot of work to do as i m a student right now.

#108

Perhaps Roberto should start a new Challenge.

SOFTCORE MODELING CHALLENGE!

#109

Doing the 80’s cartoon HMC now, I’d like to see “Pixel heroes remake!”.
Remaking all the earliest game heroes that weren’t brought into a future sequel…
So heroes like Mario, The bionic commando and the prince of Persia would be EXCLUDED.
But heroes like mr White from IK+ ,Commander Keen, Rick Dangerous etc. are ALLOWED.
I think that would be an excellent challenge, and a very fun one.

#110

I thought abou that myself. Its a great idea, although I thought with so many games ‘brought back to life’ these days maybe therese not a lot of characters left. I guess it just requires a bit of thought. I bagsy ‘Jet Set Willy’ though

Other options could be…
The Kiwi bird from New Zealand Story
The ship from R-Type (think Ive seen someone do that on here before)
Character from Ghosts and Goblins (not sure if thats had a ‘modern’ sequel)
Dizzy (not too 'hardcore modelling though  )
Paperboy
Brothers from Double Dragon
Roger Wilco from the Space Quest series (and there’s many other characters from those games that you could try too)

Anyway, back to modelling…

Pete.

#111

Guys we will do a traditional sculpture modeling challenge next…

#112

Well, I guess its about time I learnt a sculpting app

#113

Awwww, I wanted Pirates Vs Ninjas.

#114

Roberto, I don’t know if you’ve worked out the details for the next challenge, but I have a few suggestions for it.

I was trying to look around the HMC forum, but couldn`t find previous challenges; I believe, however, that before I started entering these challenges that you guys already did a classic sculpture challenge (The David, I believe).

Would it be possible to expand on the idea a little? What I`m thinking is to choose a Historical figure, such as Napoleon Bonaparte, or Wyatt Earp, Any famous figure, and create a model in the style of Classic Suclpture for that Character.

I don’t know if I’m explaining myself properly (it’s late), but what I mean is instead of replicating something that has already been sculpted, we could Choose a famous person, and then model/sculpt in the classic style.

The reason I suggest this is that, while replicating and copying Historical sculptures is a great learning experience from a technical point of view, for myself I find it difficult to focus and maintain my inspiration if something has already been done. And the reason I suggest Historical figures is so that the challenge doesn’t get too out of context. If everyone created their own characters for the challenge, it would be hard to judge in context afterwards.

Thanks for listening.

#115

ooohh nice you guys are planning another challenge. I like Rage suggestion. This time i could learn human modeling since I’m still out of practice.

#116

Rage’s suggestion is really sweet. I like that!
How about duplicating the pose of a classic sculpture ie the David, Venus of Milo, Hercules etc etc with any suitable character from either history or fiction?! I think trying to maintain the rhythm etc of the classical masters with another character would be a great challenge and learning experience.

Cheers!

#117

This would have my vote

#118

Here are some topics I am leaning to:

Treasures of the Met.
or
15 expressions one face.

#119

How about?

Treasures of the Met Ninjas.
vs
15 pirates have expressions on one’s face.

#120

15 expressions, one face sounds really awesome!!! :buttrock:
