The Best Topology For Muscle Deformer

Hi every one.
I have to use a muscle system in my project. And i quite new in muscle system.
but the main thing i want to know is :
what is the best topology for muscle deformers:
the mesh should had a perfect topology(with loops follow the anatomy).
or the mesh should be uniform like grid (as in clouth simulation).
can any one help please?
