Hi
I saw that ZAC character (crazy frog) , and I think it is a pretty nice rig but I could not check it well so I can do something like it.
I am currently trying to figure out the best setup of a rig in motion-builder so I can use and reuse it, I figured the hand part even if I still want better in-detail explanation of the relation and expression constraints, but also I want to know how to setup the foot to behave like most known rigs (watch the vid)
also I do not know how to setup a sec. motion tail or similar stuff (which damp I should use and how I keep the object at its original location in the relation constraint like in the other constraints by using snap, I also want to wire scaling in certain points in the rig to setup a squash and stretch rig, and finally how I can collect all the customized properties in on independent window.
So if someone can help it would be very nice .
The Best Motion builder Rig
there is a “clock-based” daming node in relation constraints.
try that one.
under the “Other” folder
Damping (3D)(Clock-based)
Thank you DangerAhead for trying to help but I am not asking only for what type of damp but how it is used to achieve a nice effect of sec. motion .
Did you you see the relation constraint problem image ?
Hello, mhdmhd,
Try to do the following to get damping motion:
- parent Cube1 to Cube.
- Put Relation constraint into the scene. Make Cube1 as SENDER and as RECEIVER BOTH! And Cube 1 will calculate its damping from its own primer position, which it gets from Cube movements.
- Set value.
- Press Active.
Hope, that is what you mean.
Regards!
There’s no problem with relations. It works as it is supposed to do. You aligned both boxes, only the second one is with damping, set a few different keys to see how it works.
Thank you all for helping me specially AnnaKey:thumbsup: you understood my problem , thank you
What about my other questions (the foot setup , what pivots handles I should create an link or follow which effector?) .
Hello, mhdmhd,
About the foot setup. There was a nice detailed training video about inverse foot rig, the one like in Maya etc, on 3DBuzz.com. But they are undergoing some massive reconstruction at the moment and no free training videos are available currently. Try visiting them later, might be helpful.
Meanwhile you could try this foot rig: http://www.puppetteers.com/demo/Foot.jpg .
Create AuxPivot on the AnkleEffector and align it with the FootEffector (AuxPivot is selected on the image, in place where the Foot is). Moving this Pivot makes the whole leg move quite convenient for keyframe animation. Experiment with TR and Reaches to adjust to your needs.
Regards!
