Techanim's C3 Training DVD set - Is that good?

#1

Hi,

I just found training DVD set for Combustion 3:

That looks interesting. Anyone have seen it? It’s that good? Any comments?

That DVD is actually the Combustion 2 DVD set they did with 5 hours of stuff for Combustion 3. I have the Combustion 2 Set and I prefer The Street Productions DVDs over the Tech Animation ones. Ken LaRue left Tech Animations and started The Street Productions so the majority of both sets are done by Ken. Both sets have 20 hours of material, but The Street Products one is all new material instead of rehashed material from a previous set.

I dont know too much about the Techanim DVD’s, but I DO give a big thumbs up to The Street DVD set. I just bought that and it’s really quite good as far as pacing and quality of the lessons. I find that some training DVD’s suffer from chitty chat-itis which leads to bored as hell-itis on my part.

The Street DVD keeps things moving, and for $150 its quite a valuable resource.

IMHO of course.

The Sreet Productions are really good, Ken LaRue does an awesome job at explaining what’s going on.

Just to update, Ken is looking to get the C4 DVD’s out around mid-October with something like 27 hours of training.

I’m not sure whether they are the same ones you’ve mentioned, but the Technical Animations & Video (something like this) ones are profoundly boring. They are very thorough but totally technical. There is no theory! Just “do this if you want to do this.” That said, they are useful, but it takes forever to get to the point.
