Nice work KB. I think the middleground could do with some more atmosphere in places to help sell the depth and seperate the elements into the right depth.
Really nice concept, and i think you captured the concept really well in the final matte, congrats!

If you put a histogram-tool on that image, would there be adequate detail in those shadows? To borrow a line from Ansel Adams, those shadows look more like “Zone 3” when they should be more like “Zone 4.” If that foreground foliage “goes black,” it’s going to be problematic later.
(I am not looking at the image from a properly gamma-balanced display.)
I don’t see any problems in the brighter areas which are Zones 5 and 6, but the predominant zones seem to be “3, 5, 6” instead of “4, 5, 6.” Difficult to print…
