Studying 3d Animation

#1

Hey guys.

I have been looking where im going to study for a while now, and i seem to have found 2 courses i cant decide on. I am from south africa, so the course must have international recognition. here are the 2 options:

1.UNISA: this is a 3 year course, giving a degree.

2.Learn2 focusses purely on 3dsmax and autodesk maya.

which one is the better option? UNISA gives a degree, but Learn2 is an Autodesk Authorised Training Centre…

I’m not too familiar with though schools, I am currently enrolled at Animation Mentor and have just completed Class 2 ( 6 months ). I have never done any character animation before and if I do say so myself, I am quit impressed with how much I have learned. They however do NOT teach anything else but character animation. That being said, you are being taught by animators from Pixar/ ILM/ Disney that ARE currently working in the industry. If you can get pass the $18,000 tuition, I highly recommend it.

Good luck!

thanks mate, but im from south africa, so there really is no huge options, the one from learn2 focusses on 3d animation only, but doesnt give any real qualifications. The one from UNISA is a rough outline…

Go with Learn2. There is simply no way you will learn anything particularly useful through UNISA.
