Ok, here is a rough story of my short
Dad and son are in a hospital. Dad is in bed and he sees that his son is very sad. He leans forward to his son and he starts to talk about his life. We see dad’s birthday, 1st kiss, graduation, wedding, house and first baby (the son). Then it gets interrupted and we are back in the hospital and EKG shows that dad died. Son is in shock for a while so he sits down and shows that he is sad/etc. Then, he raises his head and looks outside the window and at that point he realizes that his dad was right. Life is beautiful and he knows that his dad had fulfilling life. The camera slowly pans to the window.
So, the main important matte paint I would need is something stunning and breathtaking that is outside the window and that shows how beautiful life is. I will try to attach a picture I have there as a proxy now. I opt for sunset as those are usually always nice so that could be very very nice and would fit the story. It would also set the mood a bit as the lighting in the room would be nice and warm (opposite the beginning as he would start the talking in the mid day or so so its cold and not pleasant).
The talking is shown as stages in life so there is actually no talking. Just animation.
There is also one matte that could be nice addition and that is the wedding/proposal scene but that is not that important so in worse case I can always build a scene.
If anyone is interested then drop me a line and I can give you link to animatics I have right now.
Anyway, picture attached shows what I have now but I feel that it can be really improved as this is just a normal nice picture. What do you guys think?
