Hello,
I have two identical objects imported into ZBrush from Maya, already with UV.
I sculpted on them some, symmetrically, and all looked well in ZBrush, so I created a displacement map: one side came out fine but the other, not so much. I tried re-creating it but no use.
I couldn’t find a solution on the internet.
Also, none of the other tools in this project had this problem.
If anyone’s familiar with this, i’d like to know more.
Thanks much!
Carmel

Stripes over displacement map
Hi I have seen a similar problem, lines thru my maps. My problem was the UVs touching the edge of the maps, shrink your maps in maya, leaving space at boarder. I work with c4d and the uv program, pushes the uvs to the edges of the maps, I always make sure I have space on the borders, and no problems. Hope this helps.
Yes, this has got to be it!
Thank you.
Now my problem is, this mesh is imported from Maya as part of an .obj that contains a few other meshes as well, I also splitted and merged them in ZBrush…
Therefore, since it goes a bit messy when I try to re-import it, I wonder if there’s a way to fix this inside of ZBrush?
Thanks!
Not sure how many pieces you have to fix. You would have to duplicate object in Zbrush, use Zbrush uv system to create new map , try projecting old to new, can be tricky and will require touch up. Not sure if will work for you, good luck!DJ
Thanks again.
I can get off with mirroring and tweaking a bit the other maps for this project…
But next time, better make sure that the UVs were transferred well!
